Description of Design Modeling with Pro/ENGINEER - Release 2001 |
The Publisher writes: This book offers an introduction to 3D computer modeling and Pro/ENGINEER. The book's intent is to help users become comfortable working in 3D. Although there are numerous step-by-step examples to illustrate modeling concepts and techniques, this is not a push-button manual. The book begins with 3D modeling basics including 3D modeling methods and model definitions, coordinate systems, and view types and specifications. It then proceeds with the creation of 3D components, the documentation of those components for production, and the combining of components into assemblies. End-of-chapter exercises vary in difficulty from easy to challenging. The exercises provide a chance to review basic concepts as well as increase understanding and modeling skills by applying those concepts and techniques to the creation of some realistic models. This book and Pro/ENGINEER Tutorial are the most widely used Pro/ENGINEER books at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada and have been adopted for use by more than 150 schools. Each edition has the same table of contents.
